Demographics
The exceptional growth rate which Fountain Valley had in the 1960´s which could have played havoc with the planning of most cities, if a master plan had not been adopted before any development had begun. Unlike most communities, Fountain Valley´s plan did not have to "catch up" with existing developments; due to this reason Fountain Valley has been known as Orange County´s best-planned community. Changes in the master plan have ensured the balanced growth of the city. With a current population of approx. 55,000, the City´s growth is nearly complete. Home prices range from the mid-$150,000 for townhouses or condominiums to $500,000 and more for newer model single-family houses.
